    Sowing rate: 3-7 kg/ha (direct), 0.5-1.5kg/ha (indirect).   Planting: sow direct in field early spring or fall in warmer zones. Two or three cuts are possible.   Field spacing: 30-90cm between rows x 10-20cm within rows.   Yield: fresh herb 5-10t/ha, dry herb 1-2t/ha (year 1).   Pests: carrot root fly   Diseases: septoria and alternaria leaf spot.   Buyers want: good green colour (dry and fresh herb).  
  Sowing rate: 2-4g/1000plants.   Planting: sow in plugs or direct in pots. Sow 4-5 seeds per plug or 12 per pot.   Seeds to saleable plants: 12 weeks.   Seeds to finished plugs: 8 weeks.   Plugs to saleable plants: 6 weeks.   Pests: whitefly, spider mite, aphid   Diseases: few problems.
