Growing Saffron in Pakistan Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Mussadiq Hussain Posted on: August 06, 2006
I am interested in growing saffron. I would like to know if the climate conditions of the Punjab in Pakistan are favourable of not. I don’t have past agriculture experience.
Saffron is a traditional crop of Kashmir, but Iran has been growing it with great success and is exporting it throughout south Asia. Afghanistan is considering saffron as an alternative to opium poppy. It seems likely that saffron will grow in Pakistan also.
