Growing Chili Peppers

I finally unpacked the seeds I received from Richters a while back and realized with all my chili peppers I should have started 8 weeks ago indoors. Is it too late to start from outside or do you really recommend the indoor method first? Seems I’ve maybe left it too late for this year? If so, I’ll order some chili plants from Richter’s. FYI I had ordered about 6 different variety seeds.

You may have time yet to start your seeds....depending where you live. Most peppers require a long growing season of about 100-120 days minimum. It is ideal, then, to start them indoors so that they get a head start on the usually short summers here in our Zone 5 area. Otherwise, the summer would be over before the plants had a chance to set and develop fruit. If you reside in an area such as Florida, with long, extended warm periods, you can try direct sowing the seeds in the garden.
