Lack of Menstrual Periods

I am 28 years old and for years I have had problems with menstruation. It has been almost a year now and I have not had my period. We have been trying to have a baby but it’s difficult when you don’t know if you’re ovulating. My doctor has run out of ideas and I would like to do this naturally. Is there anyway to "induce" my period, and if so, can or will I ovulate as well? Please send any advice that may help.

Balancing hormones to promote regular menstruation is one part of the puzzle. Nutrition and lifestyle are important factors in a healthy pregnancy and birth. I suggest that you use a couple of books as resources: Amanda McQuade Crawford’s "Herbal Remedies for Women" (Prima Publishing) and "Healthy Parents, Better Babies" A Couples Guide to Natural Preconception Health Care by Francesca Naish and Janette Roberts (publisher The Crossing Press, California). These books will give you detailed information that has been used with a high success rate in overcoming problems with conception and avoiding problems in pregnancy and in the baby’s health.
