I have had open heart surgery and can no longer take nitro for angina pain. It lowers my blood pressure to a dangerous level. The doctors discovered this but has no backup as far as medication when I have chest pain. Any ideas?

Dr. Andrew Weil’s database has an excellent description of angina, and recommendations for natural treatment. Weil states that "Scientific evidence exists that atherosclerosis and coronary insufficiency can be reversed by adherence to a conscientious program of lifestyle modification involving a strictly vegetarian, low-fat diet, yoga, meditation, group therapy, and moderate exercise." Please see the website www.drweil.com and enter the word angina in the search.
