Human Uses for Catnip

Can humans eat catnip? What do you use it for other than for cats? I planted some in my garden and it’s growing great. But what can I do with it?

For humans, catnip is not considered edible, so it is not used in food. But it is medicinal, and it can be taken as a tea or a tincture. The tea is an excellent nightcap to help settle the mind and help to go to sleep. It is also good for upset stomach, colic, flatulence, and spasms, and is used for chronic bronchitis and diarrhea.

Although catnip has amusing effects on cats, these same types of behaviour do not occur in humans.
