How can herbal shampoo be made at home? I have oily scalp and falling hair. Which herbs should be used and how can the be used in making this shampoo at home?

Please list a few herbs wich can be found in the dried form and are useful for thickness and growth of hair. How can scalp rejuvenation treatment be done with homemade preparations?

Hilary Brody, in "The Herbal Health and Beauty Book" lists the following herbs for oily hair: elderflower, lavender, calendula, peppermint, rosemary, yarrow and witch hazel.

To use herbs for hair conditioning, make a tea using one teaspoon of the dried herb to a cup of boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for 30 minutes, strain, then add half of the tea to a beaten egg yolk to make a conditioner, and use the other half for a final hair rinse. Massage the conditioner well into your hair and scalp, and allow it to remain in your hair for 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with water.

Brody lists the following herbs for hair tonics to strengthen hair and stimulate growth: burdock, catnip, cleavers, fennel, horsetail, lavender, lime flowers, nettle and rosemary. To use these herbs as a rinse, prepare a cup of tea as instructed above, then add the juice of one lemon and 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar. Massage this mixture into the scalp after shampooing, and rinse off with a small amount of cool water.
