I have just been diagnosed with high blood pressure and it is very much under control already. I am just concerned about keeping it down with little or no pharmaceuticals. I would be very interested in a herbal remedy, to control blood pressure. Also, now that I am 33 years old, it is getting harder and harder to keep weight off. My mother is a big woman and I am a chip off the old block. I would appreciate any help. I have started a herb garden, including: coriander, dill, garlic, oregano, basil, scented geraniums, lemon grass, lemon verbena, aloe vera, rosemary, evening primrose (on order), lavender, and chives. I have room for about 8 more plants. What would be good choices for me? My interests are lowering blood pressure and having lots of energy, to continue an aerobic routine along with soft yoga and meditation. Sincere thanks and appreciation.

Herbs that can be grown to use for weight loss include garlic, fennel, dandelion and garlic. Herbs that can be grown to use for reducing high blood pressure include garlic, lemon balm, yarrow, motherwort, rosemary and nettles. Herbs that help to stimulate the metabolism for greater energy include dandelion root, garlic and peppermint. Although you don’t want to put nettles and dandelion in your herb garden, it is a good idea to create a separate space where they can grow happily, so that you can use them freely. If you have room for trees, hawthorn flowers and berries and linden flowers are useful in controlling high blood pressure. If you are prone to stress or tension, which affect blood pressure, include some relaxing herbs like valerian and chamomile.
