It was recommended that I take a couple of Maca Plus capsules daily for imbalance of hormones. My symptom is dizziness. What do you think?

Please see our web site at www.richters.com for information on maca. I don’t know why maca would be recommended for dizziness, or whether there is a reason to believe that hormone imbalance contributes to your dizziness.

One cause of dizziness is toxemia, blood toxins, possibly due to improper bowel function, or to a previous infection. The best way to remove toxins from the blood stream is by including lots of raw food in the diet - lots meaning all raw vegetables in your diet 3 days a week. Raw vegetables supply lots of enzymes to aid the digestive process. As well, liver supportive herbs like milk thistle and dandelion root help the liver in its role as a detoxifier. Antioxidant vitamins C and E are helpful.

Low iron can be a cause of fatigue and dizziness. If this is the case, look for a natural iron supplement. Excessive iron can cause damage to arteries, so you don’t want to increase iron unless you are advised that you have iron-deficient anaemia.

Low thyroid function (an autoimmune dysfunction) can cause fatigue, feeling cold, joint aches and pains and heavy periods.

Removing food intolerances (the most common are dairy, oranges and wheat) is often helpful.

I suggest that you get more information on the cause of your dizziness. A blood test can determine whether your blood in toxic, whether your blood is low in iron, and whether your thyroid gland is functioning normally.
