I am a healthly 60 year old woman. I have been taking omega 3 for sometime and have seen information for flax seed with omega 3 and was wondering if that would be a better way to go. I would take it in pill form.

If you are currently taking omega 3 fatty acids in the form of fish oil, you are better to stay with that rather than changing to flax seed. Fish oil is better assimilated by the body. Check with your health food store for the best brand of fish oil. Some have been tested to be low in mercury and other contaminants.

Flax oil also tends to go rancid more quickly than fish oils. When taken in capsule form, it could be quite rancid by the ime you use it. I always recommend the freshly ground seed to eliminate the rancidity problem.
