My mother craves radishes, she will eat one first thing in the morning, and throughout the day. This has been going on for several months. Can this harm her?

M. Grieve, in "A Modern Herbal", states that radishes are an excellent food remedy for gall stones. The medicinal dose is very high. Please see the website http://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/r/radish01.html for more information. Itīs possible that your mother is avoiding gall stones by eating lots of radishes.

The radish has many medicinal properties including promoting digestion and blood circulation. If your mother is not noticing any negative effects, then her cravings are not likely harmful.
