Acidophilus from Non-Dairy Sources Answered by: Susan Eagles Question from: Name not given Posted on: June 12, 2005
Does the non-dairy acidophilus have the same benefits as the dairy product?
Yes. Lactobacillus acidophilus is a friendly bacteria normally found in our digestive systems. Although most acidophilus products are dairy-based, there is no reason why these would be more effective than non dairy sources, which include carrots, soybeans, rice starch and garbanzo beans.
