For about a year I have had styes in my eyes in repetition. So far I have had two operations & two cortisone injections without success.

Is there any medicinal remedy available?

A stye is an inflammation of an eyelash follicle.

Oregon grape (Berberis aquifolium) root can be used internally and externally. Internally, take 5 ml tincture, three times daily. Externally, make and eyewash by mixing 10 ml of the tincture in 100 ml of boiling water. Allow to cool. Wash the eyes daily using an eye cup (available at pharmacies) or with a sterile cloth soaked in a portion of the liquid. The unused portion of the wash can be refrigerated for use the following day. This treatment may need to be continued for as long as 6 months, but it has had excellent success in treating eyelid infections.
