I currently am taking blood pressure medication: 50mg of Atenolol (Tenormin), 25mg Hydrochlorot (fluid), 0.2mg Clonidine. My question is: Is it safe for me to take maca root with these medications and are there side effects?

Maca root is generally been regarded as a low toxicity herb and has traditionally been used as a food by the people in South America. It has been used medicinally to improve energy levels, as a hormonal regulator as well as to improve sexual function. The effects of maca root when taken with medications such as the ones you mention have not been researched. Although it would be unlikely to experience any adverse effects, it is advisable that you consult a health practitioner for monitoring.
