Low Serotonin, Depression Answered by: Christine Dennis Question from: Shirley Posted on: February 16, 2009
What herbs can help raise serotonin levels?
Foods that are high in another neurotransmitter called tryptophan can be converted in the body to make serotonin. Such foods are fish, sea food, wild meat, seaweeds, soy protein, spinach, eggs, dairy products and beans.
I’ve had a heart attack with angioplasty, and have been having severe depression. do you have a natural remedy for the depression?
This question has been addressed before and can be found at: http://www.richters.com/qa-search.cgi?search=depression
However, both low serotonin levels and depression have been linked to poor digestive function. As such I would encourage you to find a local holistic health practitioner in your area to assess your digestion.
