Are your frankincense and myrrh items dried gum resin only or are they plants or seeds? If not, do you know of any sources for these rare plants? I’m hoping that these native African plants are not restricted for import by their government or ours.

The frankincense and myrrh we offer are the dried gum. We have not succeeded in finding seeds or live plants for either of these herbs. We suspect that trade on propagative material is restricted in the countries where these herbs grow, but we do not have confirmation of this. There is no special restriction imposed by the Canadian or U.S. governments on importation of seeds or plants of these two plants.

You may be interested in our bdellium which is very closely related to myrrh. In fact, there are those that believe that this is the one that is mentioned in the bible as gum bdellium. We have plants available.
