Remove Paper PotMaker Pots Before Planting?

I purchased a PotMaker. I just love it. I just want to know if you can plant the plant with the newspaper attached? Or do you have to discard it? Thank you very much. I bought it years ago and never used it. I am using this year for the first time and I just love it.

Glad you are loving the PotMaker!

No, there is no need to remove the paper before planting. Ordinary newspaper will disintegrate rapidly when planted in the garden. There used to be a bit of a concern about the inks used in newsprint, but nowadays most newsprint is printed with vegetable-based inks.

Please pass on the message about the PotMaker. We would love to see the PotMaker in schools -- what better way to teach kids about reusing waste paper, saving the environment, and growing plants.
