Humulus lupulus 'Spalter Select'
Uses: Medicinal/Beverage/Industrial Duration: Perennial (hardy in zones 3-8)
(Spaulter Select hops) Superior triploid variety developed at the Hüll Hop Research Center in Bavaria from a cross between Spalt and Hallertau Mittelfrüh. Used mainly as an aroma hop, with a floral, fruity, hoppy aroma, with an extra kick of spice. Used for premium German lagers, ales, and pilseners. Alpha acid is 3.5 to 5.5%.
