(Edible leaf burdock) This speciality Japanese variety is grown for its fine textured edible leaves rather than its roots. That being said, all parts of this vegetable can be eaten. Young leaves, roots and stems have a distinct flavour and can be cooked in stir fries and soups and a staple in Japanese dishes. Has a high nutritional value, as a source of fibre, iron, calcium and rutin, a valuable promoter of cardiovascular health. Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Soak seeds for 24 hours and lightly cover with soil, as light is required for germination (6-12 days). Ht 12”.
