Old Dog and Anxiety

Is there an herbal remedy for anxiety in old dogs? Where can I buy herbs for dogs?

The first question always to ask is "Why is this happening?" In your dog’s case, is there something in it’s environment that is causing the anxiety? Did it recently lose a friend? Was there a recent move? A little detective work can go a long way in solving your dog’s anxiety over the long haul. However, in the meantime, Bach Flower Remedies may be of the most use in this instance. In a clean 50 ml dropper bottle place two drops each of Aspen, Mimulus, Cherry Plum and Star of Bethlehem. Of that diluted mixture, add one dropperful to your dog’s food twice a day (assuming that he/she is fed twice a day). In addition, the use of a good, homemade diet goes a long way to calming animals generally. Please see this website (www.richters.com) for the posting "Aging Dog with Arthritis for recipe resources. Herbs, Bach Flower Essences and the books cited in the posting mentioned above should be available at any good health food shop in your area.
