Drying Balsam Buds Answered by: Conrad Richter Question from: Sandra Ross Posted on: June 22, 2004
I hope this email finds you well and happy. I am having a problem with screen drying Populus balsamifera buds. Would you happen to know the temperature I need to dry them at?
Poplar buds can be dried in the hot sun on tarps, but not taken over 110F. They will take some time to dry, turning them often. The sticky aspects will remain, and is what makes it a perfect "fixative" for perfumes.
