What herbs would one use for brain damage? As a result I am tired and have a problem with balance. I forget many things.

Since we are not medical practitioners, we offer the following advice for your information and research only. Your health practitioner can provide more information on the cause of the brain damage and other methods of helping you.

In general, you want to stimulate your circulation, support your heart and blood vessels and ensure that digestion and elimination are in good working order so that you are absorbing nutrients and medication. Ginkgo baloba is a herb that increases the circulation to the brain and will help you with your memory. This can be taken in the form of a tincture, available at a health food store. Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacanthoides) and Linden flowers (Tilia cordata) and Yarrow ( Achillea millifolium) support the heart and blood vessels. These can be taken as tinctures or in the form of a tea, one teaspoon of dried mixed herbs to a cup of boiling water, covered and steeped for 10 minutes.

Your digestion, elimination, heart and blood vessels will be helped with a good vegetarian diet or one high in fish, avoiding fats in meat, dairy products and sweeteners, which tend to clog up the blood vessels. Garlic and onions are particularly good for the heart and blood vessels. Alcohol must be avoided.
