Is it okay to take if you have renal problems?

We do not know. Gingko works by increasing the blood supply in the brain. It seems to do this selectively in the brain and not anywhere else. There is little known about the contraindications of many medicinal herbs, and the effects of gingko on renal problems is one of those unknowns. We have not heard of any problems.

If you are taking gingko you should let your health care provider know.
