I am experiencing severe headaches. I don’t believe they are migraines, however I am starting to wonder if a person over 30 can get them for the first time, even if they have never had migraines? If so what herb is recommended?

Severe, recurring headaches should be checked by your health care provider to eliminate the possibility of a serious cause.

About ninety percent of all headaches are related to stress and tension. Relaxing, antispasmodic herbs can help. German chamomile, Valerian, Linden flower, Skullcap, and Wood Betony are often used for this purpose.

Migraines may start at any age. Causes can include fatigue, stress, birth control pills, food allergies, alcohol and caffeine. Feverfew is a herb that is very successful in preventing migraine when taken consistenty. It can be taken by eating a few fresh leaves daily, by making a tea by steeping them in boiling water or in capsule form.
