Acne

I have suffered from terrible acne for many years. I have been to many different dermatologist through out these years and have met little success with my condition. If there is an herb that clears up acne please let me know.

Acne is caused by imbalances in the body. It could be related to a hormone imbalance, a diet high in dairy, fats, sugar, alcohol or white flour products, inadequate kidney or bowel function, food allergies - especially to dairy or wheat products, drugs such as steroids, lack of exercise and/or stress.

Herbal treatment is usually internal, where the imbalance lies. To help eliminate toxin by means other than the skin, herbs are used to support kidney, liver, bowel and lymph gland functioning. Drinking 8 cups of pure water daily encourages toxin elimination.

For diet and herbal recommendations please see our website at http://www.richters.com. In the Q&A section, you will find entries on acne and skin problems. In particular, please see the item "Oregon Grape Root and Skin Problems".
