Infertility

I’m trying to get pregnant. Every time I have sex his semen comes out right away, plus I have cyst by my ovaries. I got pregnant last year but I had a miscarrage in my second week. I think I have a hormone inbalance because I have hairs under my chin and around my breast. I also have depression. I have a 15 year old son, so I know I can have kids. Am I producing too much male hormone? Maybe I can take a remedy, so that I can have kids. Hormone inbalance, depression, cyst: these are the three things that I see are blocking me from having kids.

Hormone imbalance is often involved in infertility problems and in ovarian cysts, but it is important to look at what is causing the hormone imbalance.

Nutrition is very important in creating an internal environment that is conducive to pregnancy. A balanced whole food diet can provide the required nutrients. The suggested diet is high in fresh fruit and vegetables, avoids red meat, alcohol, caffeine and refined and processed foods and includes good quality protein such as lean chicken or fish, or for the vegetarian, mixtures of beans, grains, nuts and seeds.

There are many other factors that should be included when looking at possible causes for infertility. I suggest that you read Amanda McQuade Crawford’s "Herbal Remedies for Women" (Prima Publishing) and "Healthy Parents, Better Babies" A Couples Guide to Natural Preconception Health Care by Francesca Naish and Janette Roberts (publisher: The Crossing Press, California), where you will find detailed information on nutrition and herbs to improve fertility as well as information on other causes of infertility.

It would be helpful for you to work with a qualified natural health practitioner who can coach you through the dietary and herbal priorities for your condition.
