Is yohimbe a blood thinner? Can it cause any problems? Is muira puama a blood thinner? Can it cause any problems?

Both of these are ingredients in a product made by Gero Vita International. The Yohimbe is 250mg. (2% bark) I don’t want to take the product if it is going to cause any problems. I have not heart blockages and I have normal blood flow. If either of these two will cause any problems whatsoever please give me your recommendation.

Yohimbe appears to work by stimulating the central nervous system. There are side effects from this herb, as you can see by searching Richters web site: go to our website at http://www.richters.com, choose "Q&A" from the main menu, then choose "Search Richters Q&A", and enter the word "yohimbe" for the search.

There does not appear to be any research indicating how Muira puama, a herb from Brazil, works. There are no adverse reports to using this herb, as far as I know.

There are claims that both herbs stimulate blood circulation, but no indication that either are blood thinners. There is evidence that Yohimbe works as an aphrodisiac, but you must be cautious of the dosage and side effects. Muira puama may or may not work as an aphrodisiac - there are claims on both sides.
