I am now taking saw palmetto, and I want to use it to see if there are actual results of breast enlargement, but I also read that it causes weight gain. If I take this will I begin gaining large amounts of weight in other areas besides my breasts? Actually what type of weight gain is it?

Saw Palmetto is used to normalize deficient or exhausted organs. Christopher Hobbs, in "Saw Palmetto and Other Herbs for Men" (available from Richters) states that “it strengthens and enlarges wasted organs such as the breasts, ovaries and testicles”. It is known as a nutrient, tissue builder and stimulant to hormone producing glands. For these reasons it is used to help rebuild after diseases that have caused weight loss.

It may be Saw Palmetto’s estrogenic properties that help to stimulate breast growth. Estrogen is responsible for fat distribution to the breasts, abdomen and hips. Although I don’t know that Saw Palmetto generally causes weight gain, these areas may be affected with long term use.
