Puffy Eyes

I have tired eyes (bags). Can you recommend a natural cream etc. to reduce the puffiness and/or bags?

Thomas Bartram, in "Bartram’s Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine" (available at Richters) says that pouches under the eyes can be due to a number of causes, including kidney disturbance. I recommend that you consult with a medical doctor for the appropriate tests.

Bartram suggests a tea of equal parts of the herbs clivers, wild carrot and yarrow. To make the tea, steep one heaped teaspoon of this mixture in a cup of boiling water for 15 minutes. The dose is 1/2 to one cup, two or three times daily.

Externally, Bartram suggests using cotton wool pads, soaked in witch hazel distilled extract, and placed over the closed eyelids for 10 minutes, once or more daily.
