I am trying to find the ingredients for a old family herbal recipe for "Healing Oil" (recently re-discovered after being lost for many years) -- the recipe is well over a hundred years old. The ingredient we have not been able to locate is "Urika Oil" (I would think it’s actually Ureka), with a note saying it was formerly known as "Japanese Oil". Do you know where I can find it?
I have not heard of "urika oil" or "ureka oil" but I wonder if the correct name is "eureka oil". If so, there is record of a commercial product by the name of "Acruman’s Eureka Oil" made by the Acruman & Son Medicine Company in Goodspeed County, Arkansas (see: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ardallas/records/history/goodspeed.html). I could not find any details about the product, what it was made of and what it was used for. Perhaps this will be helpful in your search.

I think I can assist with answering this question. I believe I have the same recipe, and the ingredient in question is actually "en-ar-co" oil, formerly known as Japanese Oil. I have a much fuller description of that oil, with a photo of oil bottle itself, the ingredients, the manufacturer, etc.
