Do you know what will cure bronchitis?

An acute case of bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchial tubes causing a persistent cough and chest congestion) may be caused by bacterial or viral infection. Chronic bronchitis, repeated attacks of acute bronchitis, may be caused by smoking, pollution or unhealthy bronchial tubes. In general, treatment includes the following:

1. Use expectorants to help remove thick mucus. Licorice root is a soothing, antiinflammatory expectorant. Irish moss is an expectorant that is often recommended in bronchitis because it cleanses and protects the membranes of the bronchial tubes and is a good source of nourishing minerals. Mullein leaf is a soothing and relaxing expectorant that helps to relieve cough spasms. Grindelia is another antispasmodic expectorant that helps to calm a rapid heart beat that often accompanies chronic bronchitis.

2. Support the immune system to help fight infection and inflammation. Echinacea and vitamin C support the immune system.

3. Externally, apply eucalyptus oil: add 5 drops of eucalyptus oil to 5 tablespoons of olive oil and rub into chest. Cover the chest with a towel and keep warm.

4 In your diet, maximize fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid all dairy products, sugar and alcohol. Add raw garlic to your foods regularly for its antibiotic effects on the lungs. Consider food allergies and intolerances: these may be foods you crave, foods that are difficult for you to digest

5. Chronic bronchitis is aggravated by a cold, damp atmosphere, and air pollutants. Maximize your time in fresh air when it is dry and warm. Breath deeply to help expand lung capacity.
