My daughter is 11 years old and she has been suffering from scalp ring infection. She took antifungal medicine Grispeg for 5 months (prescribed by her dermatologist. It looks like this medicine cured her, but I see some small dry patches on her head. She lost lot of her hair. I do not know what to do. I am so much afraid that it is coming back! Please give me some advice on her condition.

I recommend that you get some tea tree oil and add 5 drops to a tsp of olive oil. Dab this oil mixture on the suspicious area three times per day. The next thing you need to do is building up your daughter’s immune system for long term success - both internally and externally. Ringworm is an opportunistic fungus and if the immune system is strong enough to fight it off it can in many cases. Echinacea (Echinacea purpureum), wild indigo (Baptisia tinctoria) and cedar (Thuja occidentalis) herbal tinctures can be taken together to help increase her immune system, as well as probiotics, garlic and a good diet. A probiotic rich yogurt can be applied to her scalp and left on will she sleeps to helps build up good bacteria that can also help to ward off the ringworm fungus.
