My problem is, I run hot all the time. It takes only minimal exertion to start sweating heavily even in cool or cold environments. I also experience flushing of my hands and face. I am a nurse and have addressed all the conventional medical avenues to find an answer, but to this point without success. I am 59 years old, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weigh 260 lbs. I have a history of kidney disease, an atrophied right kidney with elevated renal renins. I take Lisinopril - 20 mg bid. I am very active and have good dietary habits. Lots of fruits and veggies. If you could help with any herbal suggestions or information as to what may be causing this, I would be grateful.

There are several possible reasons for your symptoms - high blood pressure spikes, subtle blood sugar swings, or a hyperactive thyroid node to name a few. You need to persist for a diagnosis. In the mean time cooling herbs such as lemon balm, plantain or wild lettuce may be helpful at reducing the excess that you are experiencing. However, it is important that you get to the root of the problem.
